Commercial pet foods are a relatively new concept in the history of man’s association with dogs and cats. The role these animals play in society has changed from working and predator animals, whose diet consisted of table scraps and prey to that of companion animals whose diets are controlled by their owners.

Since our human diets of processed and fast foods require additional supplements either incorporated in them or taken independently, our logic tells us that the same rules apply to the foods we feed to our pets. Despite our increased knowledge of nutrition and what is appropriate to feed our pets, and ourselves, inadequate or inappropriate nutrition is a major cause of serious health problems in our children, our pets and us.

Problems such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, food allergies, heart disease and cancer are in the headlines of our media on a daily basis. The evils of trans fats, fat, refined sugars, synthetic antioxidants, and dietary carcinogens and the benefits of minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, nutriceuticals, and probiotics are buzzwords that are heard but poorly understood.

Every other brand of balanced pet “food “ made today requires additional supplements or special chelated supplements because they have main ingredients that are lacking in these nutrients or the nutrients have been destroyed during the processing the diet.

At NRG we start with the original whole food ingredients with all the required nutrients present and active. Our diet recipes are then formulated to meet the requirements for the life of your pet. Our unique manufacturing process was developed to retain nutrient content, quality, integrity, digestibility and bioavailability of original whole food ingredients used. Our diets are analyzed on a routine basis by a certified independent laboratory to insure that the nutrients are balanced to the needs of your dog.

The chart below details the nutrition contribution of the whole food ingredients we use:
