Commercial pet foods are a relatively new concept in the history of man’s association with dogs and cats. The role these animals play in society has changed from working and predator animals, whose diet consisted of table scraps and prey to that of companion animals whose diets are controlled by their owners.

Since our human diets of processed and fast foods require additional supplements either incorporated in them or taken independently, our logic tells us that the same rules apply to the foods we feed to our pets. Every other brand of balanced pet “food “ made today requires additional supplements or special chelated supplements because they have main ingredients that are lacking in these nutrients or the nutrients have been destroyed during the processing the diet.

Naked (hulless) oats, grown locally under our instructions or purchased from farmers in western Canada who meet our strict quality standards Complex carbohydrates, essential fatty acids, protein, phosphorous, soluble and insoluble fibre Hulless oats were developed in the Orient several centuries ago. Hulls are present but are loosely attached to the oat kernel and easily removed when handled leaving the hull free as an excellent source of insoluble fibre.
